2025 USAA Summer Academy

Dr. Jesus Jara, former Superintendent of the Clark County School District (CCSD), and Dr. Anita Ward, Chief Growth Officer for Care Solace, will delve into the critical issue of student mental health with a focus on CCSD. Schools are on the front lines of identifying and supporting students with mental health needs, yet they face unique challenges that result in a large number of children and youth not receiving care.  In a fireside chat format, the session will explore the multifaceted nature of the problem and the specific challenges faced in CCSD schools.  Dr. Jara will provide insights into the complexities of supporting student mental health in a large urban school district and highlight the ongoing efforts and successes of  CCSD in creating a more integrated, supportive and responsive environment for its students.

2025 NFBPA Forum Panel: Harvest Trauma Recovery Center: A First in Texas

A panel discussion, including Care Solace Chief Growth Officer Anita Ward, around the creation and success of The Harvest Trauma Recovery Center (TRC). The Harvest TRC is the first-community-based center in Texas that follows the National Alliance of Trauma Recovery Centers (NATRC) evidence-based model. With over 20 nonprofits in the same building, the Harvest TRC is a "one-stop" model providing clinical mental health and extensive wraparound support services to low-income families facing significant barriers (insurance, transportation, food, housing, etc.) and have experienced violence that has adversely impacted their lives.
