Town of Dumfries, VA Expands Mental Health Access with Care Solace

DUMFRIES, VA— Finding the right mental health provider is one of the most common reasons people never get care at all. To address that barrier head-on, Care Solace has partnered with the Town of Dumfries, Virginia to give every resident free, confidential, and around-the-clock support in navigating the behavioral health system.

Dumfries is a Prince William County community of approximately 6,000 residents located about 30 miles south of Washington, D.C. The town is one of Virginia's most diverse, with Hispanic residents comprising roughly 40 percent of the population and more than 30 percent of residents born outside the United States. Multilingual access and insurance navigation are among the most common barriers keeping residents from getting the mental health care they need. The Town of Dumfries is committed to changing that, and this partnership gives every resident a direct, human-supported path to care.

How Residents Can Access Care

Dumfries residents can call Care Solace at (888) 515-7881 any time of day or night, or visit www.caresolace.com/va-dumfries to anonymously search matched providers. A dedicated Care Companion then manages every step: identifying available, licensed providers matched to the resident's needs, insurance, and preferred language; booking the first appointment through a supported call; and checking back in to ensure the match was a good fit. If it was not, Care Solace finds another option. The service supports all insurance types and is offered in more than 200 languages.

Serving Dumfries's Community

Dumfries is a young, growing community, including families with school-age children, working adults, and a significant immigrant population navigating the behavioral health system for the first time. Care Solace is built to serve all of them, offering support for anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, substance use disorders, and many other behavioral health needs. The service is equally accessible to residents on private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, and sliding-scale plans, ensuring that no one is screened out by their coverage situation.

The partnership also covers Dumfries town employees and first responders, giving the people who keep this community running the same supported access to care they help provide for others.
